Bullet Proof Hips – Building Resilience, Flexibility and Strength with Ulric Whyte

TO BOOK ONTO THIS EVENT NOW - Please call: 0207 704 0919

Cost: £25

Our hips provide much of the power and force that our lower body generates for our movement practice; be it yoga, martial arts or simply enjoying the outdoors with walking and running. Join Ulric for this workshop which includes practical anatomy of the hip joint and strength training before launching into your own experiential discovery of your hips through movement!

An initial focus on joint mobility will help restore ranges of motion and will be followed by hip specific strength training. The final section of the workshop will include fun and effective floor based flow sequences along with flexibility work, before settling into your final relaxation.

Ulric combines joint specific mobility and strength training inspired by Circular Strength Training (CST) with Kit Laughlin’s Stretch Therapy and the flowing movements influenced by Feldenkrais, Yoga and Animal Flow.

Tickets are £25 and are available from:

Exploring the spine

Saturday December 5th sees The Movement Geeks on their home turf at London's prestigious yoga and therapy space - the Life Centre!

Cost £35

Dan and Ulric invite you to the third in their series of ‘movement geek’ explorations as they meander up through the spine. There is something hypnotic about a spine that moves effortlessly from pelvis to neck. The uninterrupted curves paint a picture of health and strength, however as we evolve to sit so do our backs. Curves become angular and movement becomes hinged.

In this 3 hour workshop we will guide you on a journey to rediscovering the inner 'slinky' that has been hiding beneath the cobwebs. You will learn how to direct your breathing along each vertebra, how primal evolutionary patterns helped your spine to develop in the first place (and can again) and a splattering of anatomy and bio-mechanics which will shine light on this often misunderstood structure.

You will roll and crawl your way to standing, where 3 dimensional movement will await you to articulate and lubricate your bones and muscles, before a fun dance and movement class to integrate the experience from head to toe. This is a proactive anatomy jam unlike any other. You won't need a pen, paper or a text book as your reference material is sitting within you. We look forward to opening the first page with you!
